As Australia
is located on the opposite side of the equator,
there are no direct satellites signals available in
Thailand on the high band like they use in
Australia. So no Foxtel
unless it is done via the internet and we do
not do that. However the ABC runs the Australia Network 24 hours a day on the low band so it is not effected by the rain now on 3 different satellites. For the geographically challenged (no clear view to the east) you can now use the IS 7/10 satellite above our heads here across all of Thailand but you need to order a free subscription card from them for another set top box we provide for their service.
There are no other direct Australian based satellite signals at this time available to us in Thailand.
The ABC and Australian government provide a 24 hour TV and Radio service via the Intelsat satellites. They also provide a free smart card for your set top box that allows you to watch the IS 7/10 satellite over our heads here in Thailand.

Intelsat 10 satellite
As a bonus you get 3 news channels
A network subscription card from Australia network is required to watch this channel 24x7 as it is not free to view, but the card is free to you from them. You also get 5 Radio Australia Radio channels for free.
Intelsat 8 satellite (original Australian Network satellite)
As a bonus you also get 24 hour access to the BBC World news channel and others, MTV and a few other English channels and several other feed channels. You also get 5 Radio Australia Radio channels for free. One of the sad facts about this channel is it is located on our eastern horizon, so if you have palm trees within 20m, or tall buildings to your east you may not be able to watch it, however the ABC can not be told this and refuse to accept this little but most important fact of life here in Thailand. So you may want to consider the Intelsat 7/10 service.
